President’s Update
USA Championships 2016

To All NGJA Members,
Following is a summary of the “behind-the-scenes” events that occurred at the USA Championships
from June 3-5, 2016:
- NGJA Governing Board & Technical Committe Meeting – this meeting takes place yearly at the
USA Championships and is open to all NGJA members (including the Board and Committee close
to 45 judge’s attended). Here is an overview of the discussion that took place:
a. All Governing Board and Technical Committee members gave reports (these reports can
be viewed by NGJA members once you log in at Membership Services at NGJA.org)
b. National Judge of the year awards were presented from each NGJA region.
Congratulations to Adam Hattersley, Gerrit DeJonge and Doug Hills!
c. NGJA Hall of Fame award was presented to Bob Witmer for all his service and dedication
to the NGJA!!! Congratulations to Bob and well deserved!
d. Steve Butcher spoke about the 2017 Men’s Code of Points, the 2017 FIG course and
changes to the FIG judge’s category system.
i. The 2017 – 2020 course will be held in Toronto, Canada and the date has not
been finalized at this time - The new NGJA VPs began the transition from the old cabinet and met to discuss the preparation
for the fall certification courses - Dan Bachman congratulated the newly elected NGJA regional and national officers and
transitioned the meeting to the new President
