WGJA Judges Course Information:
COVID Precautions: masks strongly encouraged, if you are not vaccinated please wear a mask! If you have symptoms and/or test positive within Washington’s Department of Health isolation/quarantine guidelines, please stay home and let us know so we can make sure you get a quality judges education.
Preparation for the Course:
Even though this is a new “quad” with some substantial changes, we would like to make the most out of the return of the in-person course. To do so, we recommend reviewing the Junior Program Manual and review some of the content on the Google Course you will be invited to after signing up for the in-person course. This way, we can get more practical time on the days of the in-person course.
Changes to the Junior structure and program tracks, Compulsory and Club track rules with judging practice time, Compulsory Practical Exam
Changes to the Junior Elite structure, Optional/NCAA/FIG rules and changes with judging practice time, Optional Practical Exam
This course’s practical exams do not affect your ability to become certified. At the course, we will explain the different expectations for various levels of judging experience (ex: newer judges may just be identifying execution, whereas more experienced judges will be expected to symbol, deduct, and create scores).
A $10.00 WGJA Membership Fee will be collected at the Course from all attendees.
Auditing the Course:
If you are not interested in certifying to judge this season please contact Lynn Boman at judge[email protected] or 619-743-5287 for information about auditing.
