President’s Update

To All NGJA Members,
The 2018-2019 gymnastics season officially ended with the US Championships in August. This means it is time to
prepare for the upcoming season! Here is an NGJA update for September 2019.

  1. US Championships in Kansas City – The NGJA yearly meetings were held at this event. Reports were
    given by all national and regional officers. You can find these reports at NGJA.org at the link below:

  2. NGJA Fall Certification Courses – Registration the 2019-2020 course in your area will open next week.
    More course information is available at NGJA.org at the link below. If your course is not listed, contact
    your local course director. http://www.ngja.org/education/course-sign-up.html
  3. New NGJA/USAG and NGJA/NCAA Interpretations documents – these 2019 documents are now in
    development and will be available at NGJA.org in the next few weeks. There are some very important
    interpretations and updates in these documents, and you will need them to prepare for your fall
    courses.
  4. NCAA Initiatives for 2019 – the NGJA will again emphasize this program in 2019!
    a. Emphasis on applying FIG rules at NCAA competitions
    b. NCAA Judges Challenge in December – 4 week competition with awards
    c. NCAA NALs to align NCAA judging with FIG rules
    d. Evaluated NCAA routines on NGJA.org for education and comparison
  5. US World Championships judges selected – Congratulations to Butch Zunich and Jon Corbitt for being
    selected to judge the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany!!!
