Congratulations on your assignment to the NCAA Regionals and/or NCAA Championships. The NCAA tournament is the most prestigious and historic gymnastic event in our country. The athletes will prepare all year for these meets, and they expect the officials will be equally prepared.

You were selected to judge NCAAs because your name was drawn among a list of very qualified, competent and experienced judges. As always, a judge’s performance is held to a very high standard and mistakes are not tolerated. Your successful preparation and performance at NCAAs will enhance your personal reputation as a good judge. It will also enhance the reputation of the NGJA as an organization that can provide well trained officials for college competitions.

Please take the time this year to become an expert on the event(s) that you are assigned to. Coaches and gymnasts are adapting their routines according to the latest interpretations to maximize their possible score. You MUST be ready for anything and everything to award the score that the gymnasts deserves. You must be familiar with the Code of Points, the FIG interpretations, the NCAA rules, and the NGJA Interpretations for the events you will be judging. Ensure that you closely review the NCAA pre-competition forms prior to the competition.

You should have been contacted by the NCAA to make your travel and hotel arrangements. Make sure that you are on time for all flights and scheduled meetings.
